Defence Authority College of Business is an institution of Pakistan Defence Officers Authority. The Authority, constituted through a Presidential Order, is chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Government of Pakistan and has representation of the senior officers of Pakistan Armed Forces on its Governing Board. The educational institutions operating under the aegis of Armed Forces in general and Defence Authority in particular are trusted for their discipline; quality of instruction; infrastructure, facilities and services; quality of graduates; and above all a non-commercial orientation ensuring the best possible education at the lowest possible cost.

The College is an affiliated professional college of the University of Karachi, which is one of the only three Pakistani universities ranked among top 600 of the world. The college being a public sector institution has a non-commercial orientation and admits only a limited number of students.
