membership
Categories
& Eligibility
Membership is offered in any one of the following categories:-
Regular Category A
-
Defence Forces Officers
who have a minimum of 10 years of commissioned service in their respective
Service or Defence Service Establishment.
-
In special circumstances,
the President Executive Board may reduce the service limit for serving
officers who have participated in a war, a major operation or some
special service rendered in the Armed Forces.
Regular Category B
- Selection from persons Registered in Category
B of the PDOHA
Special Member Gratis
A & B
Govt. servants / dignitaries/
diplomats may be granted special membership for the duration of their
stay in Karachi to be renewed each year.
- Gratis A
-
Grade 21 / equivalent
and above officers.

Entrance fee
/ Security deposit will be charged

Monthly subscription
will be charged.

Annual Renewal
fee will be charged.
- Gratis B
- Grade 19-20
Officers.

Official Membership for
DHA Officers
Club membership is extended to
Officers of DHA, CBC and the faculty of DHA Schools and Colleges.
Diplomat
Members of the Diplomatic Corps
are granted membership in this category, Executive Committee of the Club
may fix the rates of membership fee/monthly subscriptions.
Corporate
-
Corporate membership
is extended to companies for their officers.
-
The duration of corporate
membership shall be a maximum of 15 years, upon payment as per club
rates per person.
-
The Company may change
its nominee on intimation to the club any number of times after payment
of prescribed fee within this duration.
-
Selection procedure
would be similar to regular members. However, for commencement of
membership a minimum of three persons will have to be introduced with
no upper limit being fixed.
Temporary Mess Membership
-
Temporary Mess Membership
entitles a member and his family to avail all club facilities.
-
Mess Membership will
be extended only to serving armed forces officers posted in Karachi/Malir
Cantt. Mess membership would automatically terminate on retirement
/ posting out of the officer, even if the family has to stay back
in Karachi/ Malir Cantt.
-
Mess membership will
be granted after obtaining such a request from the Unit/Formation
Headquarters.
-
An attested certificate
duly authenticated by the officer’s Unit / Formation Headquarters
would be submitted to the club.
-
If the Monthly bill
exceeds 80% of the outstanding bills the credit facility will be stopped.
-
Clearance of Monthly
bill will be the responsibility of Unit / Formation Headquarters concerned.
-
Clearance certificate
to be obtained from the club prior to retirement / posting of officer.
This will also be the responsibility
of the Unit / Formation Headquarters.
Temporary Dining Membership
-
Temporary Dining
Membership entitles a member to avail only dining facilities. He and
his family will not be allowed to utilize sports facilities. However
they would be allowed to attend various entertainment functions.

Dining Membership
will be extended only for the period of posting in Karachi. Dining
membership would automatically terminate on retirement / posting out
of the officers, even if the family has to stay back in Karachi.

Dining Membership
will be granted after obtaining such request form the Unit / Formation
Headquarters.
-
An attested certificate
duly authenticated by the officer’s Unit / Formation Headquarters
would be submit to the club.
-
If the Monthly Bill

Foreigner
Non-Pakistanis posted / serving
in Karachi are granted membership in this category as per following rules:-

Membership will be
for a maximum period of 5 years.

Prospective member
will produce his passport, work permit and recommendation letter of
his employer / company.
Special Temporary Members
Special Temporary Membership
of one DA Club is extended to General Officers posted at Karachi. They
are not charged entrance fee, security deposit or monthly subscriptions.
Rules of Guest Membership
To accommodate household members
and near relatives of members, guest membership can be extended as per
following rates / conditions:-

- Guest membership (per person per
month) 8,000/-
- Guest membership for children
below 12 yrs 3,500/-
- Ex-household Guest membership
per month 8,000/-
- Guest membership for Affiliated
clubs 8,000/-
- Guest membership for one facility
5,000/-

Conditions / Rules
-
Written request
by a member (proforma available in club office).
-
Two passport size photographs and photocopy
of CNIC.
-
Membership will be extended for a maximum
period of 3 months and minimum of two weeks.
-
No car sticker will be issued.
-
Sponsor member to ensure that his/her guests
follow the rules of the club.
-
Guest membership will be terminated without
any notice in case of violation of Club Rules by a guest member.
Disciplinary action will be initiated against sponsor member.
-
Guest membership is not transferable.
-
Guest membership fee is non refundable.
-
No borrowing of books from the library.
-
Catering only on cash payment.
-
Guest members
are not allowed to entertain their guests.
Eligibility / Criteria
Senior Citizen Membership
Members of 65 years and above
will be categorized as Senior Citizen Members. Their monthly subscription
will be reduced to 25% of existing rates of respective category.
Household Members
-
Male children can
continue as household members upto 28 years of age or the date of
marriage whichever is earlier.
-
Age limit for female
household members is 30 years or date of marriage which ever is earlier.
-
Even after attaining
the age limit of 30 years, female household members can be extended
club membership till they get married on written request by their
parents that they are still unmarried and dependent on them.
-
On attaining the
age limit or getting married, household membership card must be returned
to club office failing which an amount of Rs. 500/- per month will
be charged till the return of club card.
-
It is obligatory
for a member to forward requisite information about the marriage of
his / her ward and / on attaining the prescribed age limit.
-
Household members
are not allowed to entertain guests.

appropriate amount in favour of Secretary Defence Authority Golf Club
must also be submitted along with Membership Form.

Foreign Nationals
are eligible for special membership of Defence Authority Golf Club.
They are, however to get a membership form filled and duly signed
by the Organization where they serve or their Embassy/Consulate.

Two coloured passport

size 1-1/4” by 1-1/2” photographs of self.

size 1-1/4” by 1-1/2” photographs of spouse.

Forces Officers must attach a copy of Service Card/Discharge and Release
Certificate.

Form for membership is not acceptable.
Deposit of Application
Forms
Application forms as and when
received shall be scrutinized in the club office from time to time, and
after scrutiny shall be put up to the committee in its meeting held for
this purpose. Those applicants under selection, who, without any information,
fail to appear before the committee after three invitations, shall be
considered ineligible for any future consideration for selection.
Selection Procedure
-
Every candidate for
selection for temporary membership shall proposed and seconded by
permanent members on such form as the committee may prescribe. A permanent
member may propose two and second two candidates in a calendar year.
-
For Special membership
the applications are to be countersigned by the respective Consulate/Embassy.
-
Platinum members may
appear before the committee without sponsors.
Result
The result of the committee meeting
will be communicated to all applicants including sponsors.
Absentee Membership
- Minimum period of absentee
is 6 months.
- Maximum period of absentee
is 5 years.
- Any previous arrears
/ dues should be cleared in FULL.
- Members / Households
cards are to be deposited in the club.
- 6 months absentee fee
@ Rs. 1,000/- per month is to be deposited in advance.
- If the member is also
a member of another club of the Defence Authority, he / she and his
/ her households cannot use the facilities of that club also, during
the absentee period. If prior to completion of six months period the
club facilities are used, then for the entire period full subscription
would be charged.
