ABOUT CLUB

Sunset Club was initially established as sports club in 1989, with extensive sports and dinning facilities. The area of club is spread over 45,000 square yards on Khayaban-e-Jami Phase-II (Ext). The construction of the club as a sports club commenced immediately after its inception. The opening ceremony of the club was performed by General (Retd) Mirza Aslam Baig, then Chief of the Army Staff on 9 Aug 1991 when club came fairly into a good shape. The club is in two distinct parts called the Sunset Club and Sunset Gardens.

Fully developed sports areas and dinning facilities compatible to any high standard Club/hotel are available in the Main Club. Elegant cafeteria facilities comprising of, a fine dining hall called “Jasmine Fine Dining Hall, an open air Bar-B-Que Lawn called “Jasmine Lawn” and a nice club bakery having live baking facility, Ice Cream Parlor and a Fresh Juice Counter for the esteemed members to meet their quality cuisine needs of snacks, Bar-B-Que and Ala-Carte Parties, are ideally located in one complex.

Sunset Lodge has 23 guestrooms compatible to any 4 star hotel rooms. These rooms are also offered to members for their guests. Non members can also book on availability of rooms on 25% extra charges on advance payment.

Seven function gardens/ lawns are also available to hold marriages parties, corporate functions and commercial activities with varying capacity from 250 to 2500 persons. Booking of these beautiful function venues are open to all residents of DHA however Club Members are given preference. Booking of these function venues is done through DA Sunset Club, Khayaban-e-Jami, Phase-II (Ext), DHA, Karachi – Phone: 021-35388123-5.

Administrative Policy

The entire Management and the affairs of the Club shall vest in the Club Executive Committee.

Tasks

Adoption of Annual Balance Sheet, Annual Report of the Finance Sub-Committee and Auditors before December each year.
Selection and fixing of the remuneration of auditors before December each year.
Approval of the six monthly audit carried out by the Finance Sub-Committee.
Approval of budget for next financial years by May each year.
May, from time to time make Bye-Laws for regulating the management of the club or any branch there of including:
- The management of guest rooms, premises opens to use of the members and charges to be made for the same.
- The provision of games and other entertainments and the charges be made for the same.
- Generally all matters and affairs relating to the conduct and management of the club.
- From time to time vary, add to or cancel Bye-Laws so made. Every Bye-Law at any time made shall take effect on and from the day on which it is posted in the premises of the club. Bye-Laws shall have the same force as the rules of the club provided they are not inconsistent with them.

Project in Hand

Kitchen Renovation

Kitchen with modern machinery, automatic exhaust/cooling system and dumb waiter lift will not only enhance hygiene/sanitation level but also shall instill efficiency in timely service. Project is half way through and ‘INSHA ALLAH’ shall be completed by Dec 2009 with a cost of 8.5 million.

Reciprocal Affiliation

Reciprocal affiliations with other clubs in Pakistan shall permit Sunset Club members, on presentation of introductory card from the Secretary, privilege of use of all facilities of the affiliated clubs on full payment charges of the host club. Following clubs are affiliated :
