CLUB
Membership
Categories & Eligibility:
All persons registered in the
following category of DHA are eligible to apply for membership of Sunset
Club:-
- Regular Members Category ‘A’
(Retired Armed Forces Officers who are also members of DHA Karachi)
- Regular members Category ‘B’
(All Others – who are also members of DHA Karachi)
- Candidates are required to acquire
membership of DHA Karachi from the DHA head office to become eligible
for membership of this club if they are not already member of DHA.
Present rates of DHA Membership fees are as under:-
- Category 'A' : Rs. 18,000/-
- Category 'B' : Rs. 60,000/
Procedure for Club Membership

Application
Form: It may be drawn from club office against payment of
Rs. 500/- on any working day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Instructions
to fill up the Forms: All Columns are to be completed neatly
and essential details to be appended in the appropriate columns.

Cat ‘A’
and ‘B’ candidates are required to get their application
forms signed from their proposer and seconder who can be only permanent
members of the Sunset Club.

Each permanent member
can propose and second one candidate in a month i.e total of two candidates
per month.
Deposit of Application Forms
-
Application Forms
duly completed in all respect, along with following documents may
be deposited in club office during working hours from 9:00 am to 5:00
pm.

Pay Order of requisite amounts drawn on Secretary
Defence Authority Sunset Club.
-
Three coloured photographs (Passport size) of
self and spouse and photocopy of CNIC/ Registration Form ‘B’
or photocopy of CNIC/ Form ‘B’ of each child between the
ages 5 to 25 years.
- Photocopy of DHA membership card.
Selection Procedure
-
Meeting of Club Executive
Committee is held once in a quarter to select the regular members.
-
Candidate along with
his or her spouse is invited to meet the Committee Members during
its meeting.

Candidates are informed
about the meeting time & date through invitation cards, specifying
dress code, mailed through a courier. Receipt of cards is also confirmed
through land line telephones.
Result
-
The results of the
Committee meeting is communicated to all the applicants with in a
week after the date they met the Committee members.

The membership fee
deposited by applicant who fails to get selected is refunded without
any interest. However they/he/she have/has to pay guest member ship
charges for the duration of their candidature if club facilities were
used by them/him /her.
Permanent Membership
Regular members on completion
of five years of their unbroken membership period may apply for permanent
membership against additional payment as under:-

Category 'A' Member:
Rs. 25,000/-
-
Category 'B' Member: Rs.
75,000/-
Other terms & conditions
laid down in Club Rules have to be fulfilled before applying for the permanent
membership.
Senior
Citizen Members
It is granted to Cat ‘A’, and ‘B’ members on attaining
the age of 65 years or above.
Household
Members
Un-married children of
members are called Household Members. They may avail the club facilities
upto the following conditions:-
Absentee
Member
The rules of absentee membership
are as follows:-

Minimum period of
absentee is Six months.

Maximum period of
absentee is Five years.
-
Any previous arrears/dues
should be cleared in FULL.

Members/Households
cards are to be deposited in the club.

Absentee fee @ Rs.
750/- per month is to be deposited in advance.
-
If the member is
also a member of another club of Defence Authority, he/she and his/her
households cannot use the facilities of that club also, during the
absentee period.
-
If prior to completion
of six months period the club facilities are used then for the entire
period full subscription would be charged.
