BEAUTIFICATION OF SEAVIEW BEACH
Cantonment
Board Clifton (CBC) is making concerted efforts to give a face lift
to the Seaview Beach, which is the most favourite recreational spot
for the citizens of Karachi. On the special instructions of Administrator
DHA who is President CBC, some momentous measures have recently
been taken by CBC to enhance the quality of beach. These measures
have helped in creating aesthetically, neat and clean environments
at the beach front. The highlights of beach beautification measures
that have been taken are as under:- |

Street lights
along the beachfront have been repaired/made operational. Beach
area is now completely lit up during night hours.

Search / flood
lights along the beachfront have been rectified and put in order.

Electric poles
along the beachfront have been painted and colourfully flagged
to give a beautiful look to the area.

CBC has arranged
and fixed 80 multi-coloured cemented benches on the beach for
comfortable and elegant seating arrangements.

Garbage collection
points i.e. dustbins on the beachfront have been repaired and
repainted.

The green belt
all along the Beachfront is being improvised. Recently new grass
has been implanted in beach area.

Arrangements
for intensive cleaning and sweeping of beach area have been
made.

All wall chalking/graffiti
have been removed.
-
6 public toilets
each for male and female have been constructed at different
points in beach area to facilitate public.
-
A six member
Committee comprising members of residents’ associations,
technocrats, horticulturists and concerned CBC officials has
been formed with the mandate to take effective measures for
beautification of the beach and request the general public for
cooperation / awareness on beach cleaning.

The fun loving citizens of Karachi would soon
see a change in the outlook, aesthetics and environment of Seaview Beach.
This will bring about a qualitative change for relaxation, style and fun.
