A Fascinating Art Exhibition

The annual arts exhibition of Defence Authority Degree College was inaugurated on February 26, 2007 by Maj Gen (R) Hassan Aqeel, ex Ambassador of Pakistan to Thailand, at the College Gymnasium.

The gorgeous artistic work produced by the fine arts students of the college were put on display in the exhibition. It comprised a panorama of elegantly made designs, sketches, figure drawing, portraits, still-lives, landscapes, relief, compositions and sculptures. The chief guest showed keen interest in the works of the emerging artists and appreciated their creativity and potential to grow.

The Chief Guest said that an artist imitated life as he saw it and recapitulated the rare moments with knack of creativity and versatility. He described art as the true expression of life and a reflection of human sentiments and feelings in its entirety. He said that events like arts exhibition helped promote a progressive, healthy and aesthetically vibrant environment in the society. He described the event as truly impressive and a reflection of enlightened moderation and positive out-look of life.

Earlier the Principal, Capt (R) Ahmed Zaheer, PN briefed the audience about the contributions made by the students of fine arts department in various spheres of aesthetic arts. The Head of the Fine Arts Department, Mrs. Mujahida Tatheer, explained the finer points of the art works produced by the students. The students of the fine arts department dressed in colourful traditional attires explained their art work to the visitors. In the end, chief guest distributed certificates of merit and shields among the students and faculty members who excelled in various fields of arts related activities.
