Creek Vistas PROJECT
Creek Vistas
Project was conceived to provide impetus to marginally inhabited
and underdeveloped Phase-VIII. The prestigious project, only of
its kind in Pakistan, was ventured by Defence Housing Authority
to provide built-in incentives to end allottees in terms of value
addition and quality living. The project was commenced with a visible
good start but due to diversified reasons it faced stumbling blocks
and setbacks i.e. technical and financial impediments, shortage
of skilled labour and scarcity of construction machinery, imbalance
of demand and supply of building materials and above all, an unparalleled
inflationary trend in cost of construction that has never experienced
before.

The project was structured by DHA on the basis
of non-profit sharing and contracted at most economical construction
cost prevailing in 2003 when the project was initiated, wherein price
of the land was not included in its original financial outlay. The delays
started to hit the cost especially when DHA was committed to compensate
those who had been allotted units (through monthly payments of Rs. 25,000.00)
plus a pledge not to deviate from high quality standards.
However, to meet the challenge of timely completion,
DHA went out-of-the-way to combat the testing times. Accordingly, shortage
of materials was addressed through imported fittings and fixtures. Stringent
safety-oriented and timely technical solutions were sought during construction
spells and uptight financial situations.

To
address the impasse, high officials of DHA under proactive advice
of the DHA Executive Board reviewed construction plans and took
bold initiatives to put the project back on the track under an
objective oriented completion schedule. With utmost dedication
and hard work, DHA’s engineer executives, all the 12 towers
(720 apartments) have been completed and offered for handing over
to the allottees on exact dates mentioned in the Newsletter of
October 2008. Presently, over 350 allottees have taken over the
apartments whereas more than 100 families are residing at Creek
Vistas.
Maintenance services are
being provided by DHA Services Company and the security aspects
being looked after by DHA Vigilance Directorate. Landscaping/plantation
is being parallely done by experienced staff of DHA Horticulture
Directorate.
Today, these high-rise
complexes stay tall with the dreams converted to reality and adds
a new land mark to DHA Karachi.
